station is Penrith.
There is an excellent bus service from Penrith to Keswick, with busses every 30
minutes.
Directions.
From the M6, take the A66 (junction 40) to Keswick.
Approaching Keswick, turn left on the A591 (Penrith Road), signposted for
Windermere.
At a "T" junction on a bend, turn right, down the hill.
After approximately 50 yards, at a right hand bend in the road, by a bench
and before a low building with yellow paintwork, Travis Perkins, turn sharply right to the
parking spaces behind the house.
If you approach from the centre of
Keswick, the house is situated on Chestnut Hill, on the left as you come up the
hill, where the old railway track (which is now a walking/cycling track and
forms part of the C2C cycleway), goes
under the road.
The house is built in local slate,
with the top half rendered and painted white.
The window surrounds are painted blue.
